Seeds of Hope

Neighborhood Center

The In-A-Pinch program exists to offer assistance to residents in the Biddeford region that have a need for those essential items not covered by Food Stamps, such as diapers, shampoo, tooth paste and toilet paper. Twice a month the pantry opens for the hundreds that come for help. They also sponsor three-times-a-year clothing drives to offer free clothing to the community. The church provides the space to the program rent free, so all of their fund-raising can go directly toward client needs.

During the winter months the church provides a simple soup and bread meal for the clients. During the summer months, snacks are offered as well. The church also offers a wide variety of games to be available during these times. For many of the clients, the twice a month gatherings are their only social contact. We try to make it as welcoming as possible, so kids and parents will feel they can stay and visit.
