Shirley brings 39 years of experience in administration, strategic planning, programming, facility & risk management, hiring & supervision, budget management, community outreach and pastoral care. She is a founding member of the team that created the Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center and has a strong passion for helping to improve the lives of our neighbors. Her first career of 24 years was in higher education administration, specifically, Student Services. Over the past 17 years, Rev. Bowen became an Episcopal priest, a college chaplain, a parish rector, and now serves as Executive Director of Seeds of Hope.
Currently Rev. Bowen serves as facilitator of the Homeless Task Force in the Biddeford/Saco area, serves as Co-Chair of the York County Maine Military & Community Network (YCMMCN), and as a Call Chaplain for Southern Maine Health Care and Chaplain to York County Emergency Management.
